Spacious room, delightful onsen, the rooftop onsen offered stunning sea views and the location was perfect for exploring nearby attractions, just a 10-minute walk from the station.

A seaside escape with stunning views
My stay at Seaside Hotel Mimatsu Ooetei was nothing short of magical. I woke to spectacular ocean views and enjoyed a delicious kaiseki dinner filled with fresh seafood. The onsen experience was truly relaxing, especially soaking in the rooftop bath under the starry sky.
While most of the amenities were quite satisfactory, the air conditioning unit could use some attention as it seemed a bit dusty. Additionally, the absence of blackout blinds in my room made mornings come a bit too early with the sunlight flooding in.

we absolutely loved our stay, enjoying two spacious seaview rooms with tatami mats that also had a peaceful closed balcony, perfect for unwinding while taking in absolutely breathtaking views of the ocean, and the hotel is conveniently only a 10-minute walk from Beppu Station, making it easy to explore nearby attractions like Beppu Park and the local art museums.

We loved staying in a spacious tatami room with a breathtaking sea view, perfect for relaxing together. The kaiseki dinner was filled with Oita delicacies, especially the wagyu beef, which my family thoroughly enjoyed. The rooftop onsen had an amazing view!
My wife says that the bathrooms could use some updating.

The Japanese-Style Room with Open Air Bath was spacious and had a breathtaking sea view, which made it feel so relaxing. The futon beds were super comfy, perfect for a good night's sleep. The ensuite hot spring bath was a highlight, very hot and just what you need after a long day. The only downside was that the room didn't have blackout blinds, so the sunrise came in pretty early.
